The biggest worry for most basketball players who do not sit on the bench might be that they will embarrass themselves in front of their fans. The problem is that there are only 5 players for the fans to watch and pull for on their team. But tonight it appeared that Andre Drummond could care less if he disappointed anyone. Is he ill? If so, then the coach should have told Andre to stay home. He carelessly turned the basketball over with 4 lazy passes and looked as if he was half asleep and could care less about the game. He appeared happy to go to the bench with almost 4 minutes to go in the first quarter. Do we have a young guy who has shown up with the flu or a spoiled rich kid who is about to become a problem for the team and the owner? Drummond appeared to look much like he did in his one year stint as a college player. Drummond really never tried to play defense from the start of the game until he was pulled. His effort on offense was even worse. Again, Andre might be sick with the flu or he might be sick of playing basketball. I have only watched the first quarter so maybe he will come to life before it is too late. This is the highest paid athlete and the guy who is supposed to play the hardest of all of his teammates.
