SVG on Stuckey
I'm surprised that you guys don't know this!
For SVG to go after Stuckey, he would have to have to execute a 180 degree turn from his opinion of the Stuckey led mutiny of Kuester!
At the time, SVG praised Kuester and savaged Stuckey & crew!
Why he would want a often injured, and in his opinion, locker room cancer would shock me!
This has been reported a lot, but it hasn't stopped the please sign Stuckey movement, lol!

Whoa, DX and Oracle ...

Oracle, I hope to high heaven you're right!!! For those who fear he'll go someplace else and "blow up," I say so what?! It's better that he finds success elsewhere, rather than anchor this franchise to the bottom in the east...we've consistently gone down since he's been a Piston...FACT!
Fellas, hold on a second ... checkout Stuckey's numbers against each team in the League. He averages double-figure points, 3 assist, and 3 rebounds per game, against every team in the League. Keep in mind he's averaged these numbers through numerous coaches and backcourt teammates.
Scroll to the bottom of the page:
http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/s/stuckro01/splits/
And, folks keep going crazy over the re-signing of Stuckey, back in 2011. If you'll remember, there was only a three-day signing period of free agents and the players' salaries that season where pro-rated, based on 56-games. So, Stuckey hasn't made off with a king's ransom.
Also, during the life of this contract he has had 3 different head coaches to add to the three before.
Oracle, what proof do you have at this date (because WE will really find out, soon) that SVG can't stand Stuckey. Because for a couple of seasons (7-10 games), Stuckey was eating the Magic, alive, while SVG was coaching the Magic.

That has nothing to do with Stuckey and everything to do with the Fat GM we just fired, BTW the team made the playoffs his first 2 seasons with the team so what happen to change that brief trend? If that's the case we need trade the whole team because there hasn't been a lick of improvement the since 2010 that would be about time Moose got here
BTW Oracle I can't find anything to confirm that SVG hates Stuckey but I'm still searching

Oracle, don't make me investigate this I have time on my hand right now Perhaps who knows I just haven't reach that point of disdain for Mr. Stuck and maybe it would be better for him if he just parted ways and didn't look back.

Bower, More Josh
Looks like a no nonsense type of guy and the thing I like based on what I've read is that he's done just about everything a he progressed in his NBA career I especially love the part about evaluating players. I like that SVG didn't fall back of the familiarity sometimes its not always good bringing in people just because your familiar with them so my guess is SVG did his homework on this hire. I still think SVG should have kept Sheed if that was working Andre.
Okay I have google all day long my favorite Pistons player because I thought I was missing something about him even though I watched since he was drafted 17th in the 2014 drafted.
There was not one comment about Josh being a bad team mate, Josh was suspend twice 1 game by the Hawks after he went nuts in practice after a game the Hawks got their asses handed to him. Then coach Larry Drew pulled a coach Mo Cheeks bitch move. There was this allege instigating of a locker room scuffle that no one can confirm or offer any details on. The reason why Drew pull that bitch move was out of desperation because ass was being canned after the season and he was scapegoating Josh. Judging from many of the article I found it was Joe Johnson that was the issue for the Hawks as they often called him ISO Joe because that was Drew's only play on offense.
Josh Smith wanted out of Atlanta after his rookie contract and had several suitors, he actually signed an offer with the Grizzlies when he was an restricted free agent that the Hawks matched to keep him. Josh already didn't like nor respect Larry Drew and from all my reading most of the players on the Hawks felt the same why but this was somehow attributed to Josh because he spoke up about Drew's system and his unhappiness and not wanting to be on the Hawks. Sounds familiar So of course since he spoke publically about his unhappiness and wanting to be traded Danny Ferry couldn't handle it so there goes the smear job and lies.
Then this idea that only Detroit wanted Josh is false as well there were at least three teams wanting to sign Josh the Bucks being the main team. Now lets put our conspiracy hats on for a moment and ask this question. Was the moving of both Knight and Middleton and taking dumb Jennings some form of compensation to the Bucks for not matching the Pistons offer.
So then next I looked to see what the fans thought of Josh and all from all I've read they loved him and hated to see him go. I laughed reading that when Josh got ready to shoot the crowd would scream Nooooo! however they loved him for all the other things he brought to the table unlike the fans here who follow all the bad Josh rumors and die every time he shoots a three then forget about all the other things he does on the court.
As for the sour puss faces well I guess it just stuck on his face personally I think its cool but man the guy spent 9 years in a place he didn't want to be and then he gets here and Moose is half ass and Jennings is a clown and Cheeks might as well have been Larry Drew all over again.
PLEASE TRADE JOSH NOW!!!!!

Michael Corleone, er., I mean Adam Silver, is in the house!
"Silver sent his first message loud and clear: Don't ever take sides against NBA family... EVER!!!
Take the silence Tuesday stemming from the fact no vote is necessary to oust Donald Sterling from the league for what it is: Proof Adam Silver is the Michael Corleone of the NBA"
Instead of a media circus — to say nothing of a vote made difficult and ugly by the sentiments of owners like Mark Cuban uncomfortable with being stuck between taking on racism and setting a precedent to oust one of their own, or of a never-ending battle with a billionaire as litigious as he is racist — we have a date that can serve as a piece of trivia: June 3, 2014, the day the NBA’s Board of Governors had planned to vote to remove Sterling from the league.
Silver, an untested commissioner many believed to be too new, too fresh, and too damn nice win a bloody battle against someone as formidable as Sterling utterly crushed him.
Godfather style." - Silver sent his first message loud and clear: Don't ever take sides against NBA family
BTW, I would have liked to see how the vote would have shaken out(like Wise said), just to get them on the record!

Oracle I know everyone on their last leg with Stuckey but sadly he might end up being one of few options considering where the team sitting in the draft . When it comes down to it I would rather have Stuckey than Jennings, I rather have him than Bynum or Old Man Billups and he's far better than Siva at this point.

Things I'm Tired Hearing and Reading
Football Lawsuits, this sh!t needs to stop really. Okay I recall by mother having fits about me playing H.S. Football she thought it was crazy and she was likely more concerned about me breaking a leg or arm. While in my first game I took a helmet to the jaw broke a tooth clear in half, I played an entire game with a hole in my knee, I separated my shoulder twice, and by my junior season was getting my knee drained and having floating bone spurs taken out. It was a physical sport in H.S. so I know college and the pros wasn't a cake walk, I was good enough to play in college and maybe the pros if I had ever taken it seriously but by my senior year I was tired of getting beating up so I stop playing.
The NFL has already settle the initial suit so please give this sh!t a rest, enough already. There is no way no one was unaware of the risks involved in playing and the possibility of injuries that would affect their bodies after their careers. My shoulder still slips out of place from time to time and stiffens, and my knees still aches and swell. Some of the hits you guys take are vicious so vicious that you dream about them after they happen. What I find funny in the suits is that you make claims of forgetfulness and dementia but seem to remember every detail of the hits and treatment you received 20 years ago. What a joke.
Same goes for you asses that are suing over the medical treatment and drugs you took during your careers.

Resigning Rodney Stuckey ...

He's 27 years old now been traded 4 times already in his 4 year career so far I'm not ass strong about him as I was a couple of years ago. Do I prefer him over Bynum, and Jennings? I most certainly do. Could he be on the verge of finally breaking out in the same manner as Chauncey? perhaps I'm just not sure. My fear would be over-paying him and not having a viable backup plan if he doesn't produce but he might be able to play under SVG who knows.
This won't be popular but if we were to sign Greivis then I would like to keep Stuckey as well if the price is right and its no more than a 3 year deal. Sure get rid of Bynum, Jennings, and Billups but IMO I think Stuckey could excel as we all once hoped he would if he's playing under SVG as coach. Stuckey will likely end up playing for a contender next season, I can see him in Miami, Indy, or OKC but if we could keep him I would.

Wisefan is indeed a wise fan.
A backcourt of KCP, Stuckey, and Grevias would be a very competitive backcourt on both ends of the floor.
Sebastian, the bait was there and I knew you'd bite...setting aside my reservations about Stuckey's mental makeup and selfishness I'd have to agree with bringing Stuckey back, under conditions; #1. We signed Vasquez to be our starting PG. #2. We sign Stuckey to a three year contract with the third being a team option.
Wise, the hope has always been, Stuckey would play better under the new coach, but his game never seemed to improve, to me, as time went on and that had nothing to do with who was coaching him. He never seemed to contribute to building team chemistry either. Okay, we're on the same page as far as length of contract goes, but what's the cost? I don't think he earned the last one, so would you sign him at a reduced rate or give him a Dumars special?
DX, I would be down 100% with signing Grevis at $5.5 for 4 (with the fourth year as a team option) and Stuckey at $6.5 (with the fourth year as a team option), by the third year of these two contracts WE will then have a better gauge of the career trajectory of KCP.
I would start Grevis at the PG position, as WE have seen from his time in Memphis and Toronto, not so much during the brief stop in Sacramento that Vasquez plays at a great pace, he has range on his jumper, he's a decent decision, and he can guard the position. Most of all, the dude is tough.
KCP would start at the two. He should have the license to shoot. He should become a definite defender of the 2-guard position. I would like to see a lot more of the KCP that closed out the'13-'14 season against the Thunder.
Stuckey would be the key to making this trio of guards work. Stuckey can be the 2 guard with Vesquez and he can be the PG with KCP. Stuckey, as the 6th-man would be a weapon that the other 29 teams would have a time trying to match.
I would move B. Jennings to the Pacers for Solomon Hill and Ian Mahinmi - http://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/6456353.
I guess WE may as well keep Will B., if the above was implemented.
I am still thinking about what to do with Josh and/or Moose, but will come up with something soon.

Wise
Wise, I can't disagree with any of your reasoning, but keep in mind that SVG is high on resigning Monroe and I don't get the feeling he shares the disdain for Smith a lot of fans are taking for granted that he does...we're already committed to Smith's contract and have Drummond to consider down the road. Big bites on the purse for sure, if SVG turns them into a highly productive trio.
Stuckey is a 6th man...when he first caught our eye he was coming off the bench as a rookie and his last season (his most productive) he was coming off the bench. I'm not fanatical about starting Stuckey (as some are), but want him to be highly successful for us, in the role he's best fit to play...6th man. In todays NBA a great 6th man commands $5-6 million a year...operative word is great! You want to give him $21 million over three years? How about $5 million for the first two and if he pans out, a balloon payment of $11 million the last year?

Sounds Reasonable DX
DX, a 3 year deal with a team option on the last is something I could agree with as well. Now if the assumption is could some how dump Jennings contract I would not have a problem with 21 Million spread over the 3 years range.
Remember DX Stuckey came in at the beginning of the season a carried the team when we all thought this team was looking like a playoff team in the makings and he was getting Sixth Man praise from the media. Then he got hurt and by the time he came back whatever collapse the team seem to have occurred while he was out.
I still think that if given a stable environment he could commit to playing hard and more focus. He has yet to have a stable environment and SVG seem to be set for the next 5 seasons. I say keep him

It would give us a nice size backcourt Greivis is 6'6 and Stuckey is 6'5 and so is KCP. All three can be decent defenders, all have a different style of offense, you can mix and match them any way in the line up and at times play all three together. Perhaps the NBA Gods may smile upon them and have Robinson Jr '6'6 sitting there at 38. Then we're looking at a backcourt of Greivis, KCP, Stuckey and Robinson Jr.
The only thing about Greivis is that he's not as consistent as I like him to be. I think both his assist and pts totals need to come up some especially those assist.

"The Power of Persuasion" by Stan Van Gundy
The best bench in basketball could belong to the Detroit Pistons...all it takes is a sincere buy-in by some and a committed effort by to succeed by all. Josh Smith, Josh Harrellson, Kyle Singler, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is as fine a 6 through 9 man bench as you'll find in the east, for sure, and all it takes for them to click is convincing them that's the role the team needs them to give their all to and they will become champions. Enter Stan Van Gundy.
Starting lineup, Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe...starting lineup? Where are the other three guys? This is Van Gundy's and Bower's challenge; putting the three proficient shooters, who can give better than average defense, on the floor with Monroe and Drummond. Will it be possible to still get Nik Stauskas out of the draft? You remember Stauskas...the guy some didn't want at #8 when we had hopes of a #8 pick...seems like a gem now doesn't he? I'm convinced he's going to be one of the deadliest shooters in the league, starting this year, and more formidable at SG than many give him credit for. Can Bowers and SVG get him? What do we have to loose by giving Datome the same opportunity we gave Singler and KCP to succeed in the starting lineup? With the resigning of Greg Monroe and keeping Josh Smith, we don't need to get in a bidding war for a 2nd tier SF...make no mistake about it, Parsons and Hayward are 2nd tier SF's, and we've already got Singler and Datome for half of what they'll command from some foolish GM. We're a team on the rise and can't get it all right over night. Okay, we've got our big men of the future in place, a Euro sniper getting an extended tryout, and a promising rookie sharpshooter; all we need is a floor general...who the hell can look at Jennings as a general anything, other than a general fool? He can't shoot any better than Siva, he just shoots more, and doesn't make better team decisions with the ball, just flashy, showoff dribbling; that's not what we need and neither is Siva. Could Greivis Vasquez be the next Chauncey Billups? Isn't it time to give him a home and his own team to run? Could that be Detroit? Saying he doesn't play defense doesn't wash, because we haven't had a PG that played defense since when? He's an upgrade over Jennings, period! How do we get Stauskas? What about Jennings, Jerebko, Bynum, Mitchell, Siva, the kitchen sink...whatever it takes! A more popular route can be taken, albeit more costly, but what do we have to loose? All we need is for Stan Van Gundy to be persuasive enough to make it happen.

Bower
Looks like Bower's the guy, the GM below SVG. The Freep has a nice write up. Sounds encouraging.

Jennings
Don, I'm going to need to revise my opinion that Jenning's tradeable (even for damaged goods). Take a look at the most recent online dictionary under "untradeable" and that's the picture you see. I never thought his contract was that bad, but now we're really stuck. The expiring contract (a year from now for him) used to be gold, but its value in the league seems to have gone down.
I wonder if that's enough evidence to void his contract. At least to get a suspension.

A post for the ages
Thanks for that, Deus. Great stuff.

I have nothing but respect for the diverse group of loyal Pistons fans on this site; those who've stuck true to the dialogue of todays news for our hard court heroes have grown close to my heart...some have abandoned "Pistons Talk" for reasons of obligations to life and others, well, who knows, but it's those that stick and stay who I wouldn't intentionally offend.
Phillip Boy, who seems to have had a change of work shift, but remains active with his input early in the morning...keep making the "donuts" man, that's what greases the wheels of a sound life.
Sissy, who sticks his head in from time to time, but doesn't share his passionate insights much...miss you 'bro.
"The balcony boys," Merc and Murph; for some reason I connect those two gentlemen, maybe it's because they seem to be hard working, dedicated men who love the game of basketball and when time permits, they share some down-to-earth insights...are you guys related?
Sparma is a real off beat dude (I mean it in an affectionate way); when he comes on I feel like I'm having a fireside chat with Aristotle, Plato, or Alfred E. Newman...I'm always left with something to think about.
Don, the man from Tucson. Your insights on player performance and evaluations of players not on the Midwestern radar is invaluable. You a passionate guy who still believes in what makes this team great...defense. Why you think J-Smoove is trash is beyond me, considering your basketball values...I guess there's more for me to learn from you.
Sebastian, what can I say? If Stuckey doesn't come back (which I hope he don't) what'll we scrap over? More often than not we're on the same page, but our Stuckey wars were epic...mad props 'bro.
Wise, m'man, I feel like we're kindred spirits when it comes to the uncompromising demands to enjoy a top product representing the city of Detroit. It ain't always easy, but damn, it's enjoyable and rewarding. "I'm an outlaw baby, outlaw!"
Oracle, I saved you for last; the best should be introduced last. I always find you to be the voice of reason...clear thinking, open minded, and when I've left the farm, you always reign me in. It's good to have a conscience in the flesh and you've been the conscience of this forum (like it or not!). I continue to rely on your knowledge.
I'm giving my fellow posters a shout out out now, because in the days to come, we'll certainly have our lively discourses when SVG starts doing his thing. What'll he do with Smith/Monroe at PF, and who will carry the most value in putting this franchise back on track. What will he do with this sorry ass cadre of PG's? Jennings, Bynum, Billups, and even Siva, can't be looked at as viable solutions to get our record on the upswing. One thing's for sure, they take up 25% of the active roster space! Will we see Mitchell's athletic abilities under SVG's tutelage? Will we see what Datome has going for him as an NBA player...shooter, defender, passer, a guy who can think his way all the way through a game, or will we continue to jock Singler, like he's the second coming of Grant Hill? I'm sure to have some thoughts and views that'll not sit right with some (I hope not all) people, but the draft, FA signing period, and trades that should be made; the Stan Van Gundy show is sure to have this site buzzing. Enjoy the coming summer y'all.

Get Rid Of this young Hood Rat ASAP Van Gundy
Good for you Nick Young. Don't ever let A loser like Jennings take you down with him.
Jennings might become A NBA player when he grows up one day but right now this is what he enjoys most. Drugs, dating gay women and playing recreation basketball.
I'm not mad at you. It's OK to be A kid but I wish you were not playing for my favorite team.
Brandon Knight is some place chilling out, getting bigger and stronger and working on his game. DAMN JOE!!!!!!

LOL, more jennings... This is the full article, minus the video
For all the times that Brandon Jennings hasn’t shared the basketball, at least we now have proof that he was taught the act of sharing in kindergarten.
Unfortunately the only thing Jennings is sharing is a little white pill at a it involves passing some type of pill substance at a club to soon to be free agent Nick Young.
Deadspin.com brings us the video of Jennings, who is shirtless, and Young who is in a white shirt going through the motions, but do we see an exchange?
That doesn’t look like a piece of gum or hard candy.
The folks at Deadspin call the so called white thing that Jennings is trying to exchange with Young “molly.”
Forgive me for not knowing what that is, I don’t get to listening to Miley Cyrus as much as I used to.
Here is one thing that we do know for sure. It was the first time in Jennings career that he was willing to pass and it was the first and last time that Nick Young will ever pass up on something he might like.
For those of us non-cool kids out of the loop on what Molly is — CNN has a pretty basic explanation of the drug.
Molly is a hit at raves and is targeted at first time users and regular abusers between the ages of 12-17.
That explains why it followed the immature Jennings to a night club he was appearing in with no shirt.
Stan Van Gundy has to be doing backflips right now, knowing that this is what his point guard’s definition of getting better in the off-season is.

The drug called Molly isn’t what most of its users think it is. If you Google “Molly,” many articles say the drug is “pure” MDMA, the active ingredient in Ecstasy.
Users often talk about the “purity” of taking Molly, as if it’s somehow better; after all, MDMA was originally developed as a medication to treat depression. But today’s Molly is most often not MDMA — in the last few years, the drug has become a toxic mixture of lab-created chemicals, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
